Charlton regarded as one of the greatest midfield players of all time, and an essential member of the England 1966 Fifa World Cup winning team and was also the year he won the Balon d’Or. Charlton appeared in four Fifa World Cup Finals and won three league championships and an FA Cup with Manchester United. His biggest domestic honour was to win the European Cup in 1968 beating Benfica 4-1 after extra timewith Charlton scoring twice in the Wembley Final. This happened 10 years after the tragic Busby Babes Munich Air disaster in 1958. Charlton played 106 times for England scoring 49 goals and is 2nd in the highest English goalscorers of international goals
